Appendix 8 - Treatment

Synopsis: The work that I am currently producing is an RnB/Hip-Hop music magazine which is called IGNITION. In my magazine there will be a front cover, contents page and a double page spread which is based on an interview with the artist on the front cover. I am creating my magazine by using two programmes; Qwarkexpress and Photoshop.

Detail of target audience: The target audience that my music magazine is aimed at is the ages of 16-24. The magazine is aimed at both males and females as the artist on the front cover will have gangster look, creating an ideal self image and for females as the artist creates an ideal self image. The magazine will be a mainstream magazine. This magazine is a monthly product with one coming out every month. The magazine will cost £3.50 per edition.

Photography Design: My photographs for my music magazine will take place in media classroom and in my bedroom. Actors for my magazine will be Sam Jones..
Costumes will involve wearing a hooded jacket, flat beak cap. The props that I will need are a baseball bat, jewellery (chain). My front cover image will be a medium close up and for my main article image I am going to use a long shot for my image. The artist will be a solo artist too. The image on my front cover needs to be shot on a dark background, preferably black as this will follow my house style. The image for my double page spread will be on a light background with the artist holding a baseball bat with two behind his head.

Interview/Article: My double page spread will be based on an interview in to the career of the artist on the font page. I will research article and styles by looking at article of music magazine with similar content. Whilst I am doing this I will look at font styles etc from already produced magazines to try and make it look as realist as I can with the facilities I have available.

Initial Recce considerations: I will be taking my photos in the media classroom and in my bedroom. The evacuation assembly point in the event of a fire or other emergency in college is the front football pitch and the nearest first aider is Vicky Rowntree in M138 or one of the Sports Staff in SD3. It is important that no lights are shined in peoples eyes as they way be sensitive to flash photography etc.
